چکیده

The aim of this paper is to investigate the regime high Mach number flows for compressible barotropic fluids Korteweg type with density dependent viscosity. In particular we consider models isothermal capillary and quantum fluids. For case prove existence weak solutions related properties system without pressure, convergence solution in limit. This latter proved also which a weak-strong uniqueness analysis discussed framework so-called “augmented” version system. Moreover, as byproduct our results, fluid special choice initial velocity datum, obtain an interesting property concerning propagation vacuum zones.

The inviscid limit for density-dependent incompressible fluids

— This paper is devoted to the study of smooth flows of density-dependent fluids in RN or in the torus TN . We aim at extending several classical results for the standard Euler or Navier-Stokes equations, to this new framework. Existence and uniqueness is stated on a time interval independent of the viscosity μ when μ goes to 0. A blow-up criterion involving the norm of vorticity in L1(0, T ;L∞...

A Trickiness of the High-Temperature Limit for Number Density Correlation Functions in Classical Coulomb Fluids

The Debye-Hückel theory describes rigorously the thermal equilibrium of classical Coulomb fluids in the high-temperature β → 0 regime (β denotes the inverse temperature). It is generally believed that the Debye-Hückel theory and the systematic high-temperature expansion provide an adequate description also in the region of small strictly positive values of β > 0. This hypothesis is tested in th...

An example of low Mach (Froude) number effects for compressible flows with nonconstant density (height) limit

Abstract The purpose of this work is to study an example of low Mach (Froude) number limit of compressible flows when the initial density (height) is almost equal to a function depending on x. This allows us to connect the viscous shallow water equation and the viscous lake equations. More precisely, we study this asymptotic with well prepared data in a periodic domain looking at the influence ...

Low Mach Number Limit for Viscous Compressible Flows

In this survey paper, we are concerned with the zero Mach number limit for compressible viscous flows. For the sake of (mathematical) simplicity, we restrict ourselves to the case of barotropic fluids and we assume that the flow evolves in the whole space or satisfies periodic boundary conditions. We focus on the case of ill-prepared data. Hence highly oscillating acoustic waves are likely to p...

Local density approach for modeling fluids with density-dependent interactions.

In a recent paper [Phys. Rev. Lett. 86, 2038 (2001)] a simple fluid with a particular density-dependent pair potential was shown to exhibit, together with the vapor-liquid transition, a liquid-liquid phase separation and it was evidenced that, in order to adequately define the correct boundaries of stability, a simulation procedure based on the use of local densities had to be devised. It was f...
